The condition of LBT women is vulnerable in multiple aspects due to lack of proper education, skill and financial accessibility. Their feelings and emotions are ignored, voices are silenced and they are by plan deprived from accessing basic facilities of the country. Due various socio- economic disparities, LBT women are bound to go through discrimination, agitation, physical and mental suppression from their own family, relatives and community where they live. As trans-led organization, we empower our LBT women community with education, awareness, skill and capacity building training for their overall empowerment and socio-economic integration in society. Our organization is committed to empowering the Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender (LBT) community through education, awareness, and skill development so that every individual can access their rights and participate fully in society’s socio-economic life. We strive to ensure that the human rights of the LBT community are protected through dedicated legal aid, robust policy advocacy, and by strengthening mechanisms that uphold the rule of law. By organizing and mobilizing LBT individuals, we are fostering leadership and advocacy skills that will enable them to stand as confident voices for change. We prioritize the promotion and protection of LGBTI rights, ensuring inclusive representation and active participation in decision-making processes. Our efforts focus on policy reforms that improve living and working conditions, secure employment opportunities, and guarantee equality, inclusion, and safety for all members of the LGBTI community. Together, with solidarity and determination, we can make some change so let’s work together to bring some visible change in society where diversity is celebrated, human rights and justice is upheld and everyone is respected in society.

📈 Our Campaigns

Education and Awareness: IFN has been conducting different activities to bring about public awareness in society about the Sexual and gender minorities (LBTI) issues and concerns through orientation, trainings, workshops, interactions, discussions and consultation programs with key stakeholders since its establishment.

📈 Capacity Building Program

IFN builds leadership capacity of the LBTI members. It also provides capacity building training on stress management, conflict management, program management, report writing skills, public speaking, lobby and advocacy and social dialogue. The trained graduates are now visible in different occupations, lobby and advocacy initiatives Sensitizing policy making bodies and bringing about public awareness about LBTI issues and concerns.

🛠️ Skill Training for Livelihood

IFN provides skill training to ensure social and economic empowerment of Trans and LBTI community and assisting them in their social integration in society. In this part as many 120 individuals have been provided driving skill training and 10 individuals were provided barista training and 25 trans men acquired security guard training under capacity building training program. Now they are trained enough to fit for the employment but the dilemma is that it is very difficult for Tran’s community to get inside any kind of employment and the reason again is the denial of identity and societal discrimination.

📢 Lobby and advocacy

IFN has been constantly engaging in policy dialogue and advocacy initiatives to address critical issues such as same sex marriage, equity, socio-economic empowerment, protection and promotion of rights of LBTI community through the promulgation of policy and laws. We believe in collective work that is why, we collaborate with like-minded 3 organizations working in the field of LBTI rights to put joint pressure on the concerned entities to addressing our issues and expectations.

🚨 Our Efforts in Emergency

IFN has always supported the LBTI community in emergencies. During the earth quack in 2015 and pandemic of Covid 19, many SGM were more vulnerable with no support from family and government. Considering the need of their situation, IFN supported them with food and shelter. The organization also supported small funeral cost of the individuals who died during covid period.

🧠 Psycho-social Counselling

Many LBTI members have to face problematic situation in their family and society and most often they suffer alone which brings them to deep mental stress. Considering their situation, INF provides psycho-social counselling to its members so that they can handle the difficult situation they fact in family and society. The victims are also provided other needful support in their helpless situation.

Social Feed

IFN as one of the leading Trans-led organization is strongly committed to fight to ensure visible change in the living and working condition of thousands of LBTI members in Nepal.
