
Access To Justice And Social Empowerment For Lesbians And Transgender Community
The grant "Access to Justice and Social Empowerment for Lesbians and Transgender Community" by "Open Society Foundation(OSF) to empower Lesbian and Transgender people on access to justice and advocate on discriminatory laws and policy.
Objectives:
- To strengthen the concept of rule of law and legal aid among LT
- To conduct consultation meetings, training and orientation to stakeholders
To advocate and sensitize local governments from 7 different provinces of Nepal to be inclusive while
making policy
Activities:
- Training on gender based violence, access to justice to LT
- Community orientation on access to justice and to police personnel
- Orientation to province based government offices and major stakeholder and preparation strategic planning in related to LT
Expected Outcomes:
- Improved knowledge about legal aids and the rights of at least 300 personnel from LT community
- Legally voice for their rights by at least 50 personnel of the training
- Sensitized local government, police and media by the advocacy and awareness programs against discriminatory practices
- To create enabling environment to address social malpractice toward LT
